Forks Over Knives / Healthy Diet That Prevent & Reverse Diseases

Forks Over Knives is a 2011 film documentary that examines the "profound claim that most, if not all, of the degenerative diseases that afflict us can be controlled, or even reversed, by rejecting our present menu of animal-based and processed foods.

I have always believed in a good balance diet. Many years ago in school we learned that milk was good for our bones and that we need meat and eggs for protein which helps to build strong muscles. So last night when I saw this film  my jaw dropped.

I just couldn't believe my ears! Everything that I was taught about food was not only wrong but the food that I thought that was essential for our health and well being was contributing to most of the world's diseases.

According to the latest statistics two out of three Americans are overweight. And that heart disease, cancer, and stroke are the three leading causes of death in the United States. The major cause: Animal based diet.

Here is the trailer of the documentary Forks Over Knives:

Watching this video was certainly a wake up call for me.

As a wife and cook I have the responsibility to take care of my family's health. And now more than ever I am determined to add more vegetables to my husband's plate of food. Even if he doesn't like it.

Thank you for this article. I am interested in what they have to say. Like you, I am always looking out for the health and well being of my family. I am not sold on vegetarianism quite yet, but I do agree with the principle of cutting out processed and artificial food. I know when I cut out processed food and most grains last year, the eczema I had been battling for years cleared up in a week.

Trixie I am happy to hear that! That is awesome! Many health problems could be avoided if we just ate healthier and safer foods. If they could make foods healthier we won't have to worry about what we eat.
